ARCHAEOLOGICAL SIGHTS

Voima-Kuusela row house

About two kilometres from the Kierikki Centre, almost by the road, there is a 64-metre-long depression of an ancient row house. The house is formed by seven depressions connected to each other by wide doorways, which are visible even today. In 1998, a small part of the house was excavated. New data concerning "Kierikki" type rowhouses, e.g. remains of walls were found. Several amber buttons were also found, which is considered a sign of high standard of living in the Stone Age.

The remains are easily reached: from the parking lot a wooden pathway leads to the site. We recommend a visit to the remains of the original row house after visiting the centre and the Stone Age village.
